Metropolitan Hotel Spa
We proposed a relocation and complete reorganisation of the spa facilities at a London hotel, creating a unique facility in the heart of the city.
A simple yet elegant two-storey extension infills the hotel’s rear courtyard and provides access to three floors of previously underused below-ground space.
Inside are four floors of leisure and fitness facilities, including a gym, yoga studio, juice bar and treatment rooms. We also created a thermal spa facility at sub-basement level.
The design maximises daylight, while controlling views from the surrounding buildings.
The site requires the structure to be prefabricated, lightweight, contemporary and easy to construct so that it can be built with a minimum of disruption to the hotel’s day-to-day functioning.
The result is a tranquil, refined urban sanctuary where guests can work out, relax and be pampered.
